Identity

About us

Who we are, how the foundation is organised, and the principles its institutions work by.

The Euxinus Foundation is a non-governmental, non-profit institution working in the field of cultural memory, education and creative work. Its activity is organised into distinct institutions, each with its own object and its own leadership.

A long-term settlement

The foundation was conceived as a stable framework for projects that take time: archives built step by step, educational programmes followed from one year to the next, editions prepared with scholarly care. We do not pursue immediate visibility, but the continuity of work well done and its transmission onwards.

Two families of institutions

The first comprises the foundation’s own institutions: an educational centre, a research institute, a music centre and a creative workshop. The second comprises autonomous institutions, which keep their identity and leadership while working in partnership and under the aegis of the foundation.

A principle of discretion

Projects in support of disadvantaged persons are not the object of publicity. Media coverage accompanies only cultural, scientific or educational projects supported by specifically directed contributions.

The good name given to a difficult sea is the oldest form of hope this part of the world has known.
